Mat 10:11 “And into whatever city or village you enter, ask who is worthy in it, and stay there until you leave.
Mat 10:12 “And as you enter into a house, greet it.
Mat 10:13 “And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Mat 10:14 “And whoever does not receive you nor hear your words, when you leave that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
Mat 10:15 “Truly, I say to you, it shall be more bearable for the land of Seḏom and Amorah in the day of judgment than for that city!
Mat 10:16 “See, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
Mat 10:17 “But beware of men, for they shall deliver you up to sanhedrins and flog you in their congregations.
Mat 10:18 “And you shall be brought before governors and sovereigns for My sake, as a witness to them and to the gentiles.
Mat 10:19 “But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it shall be given to you in that hour what you shall speak,
Mat 10:20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking in you.
Mat 10:21 “And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and a father his child. And children shall rise up against parents and shall put them to death.
Mat 10:22 “And you shall be hated by all for My Name’s sake. But he who shall have endured to the end shall be saved.
Mat 10:23 “And when they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For truly, I say to you, you shall by no means have gone through the cities of Yisra’ĕl before the Son of Aḏam comes.
Mat 10:24 “A taught one is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
Mat 10:25 “It is enough for the taught one to become like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beʽelzebul, how much more those of his household!
Mat 10:26 “Therefore do not fear them. For whatever is covered shall be revealed, and whatever is hidden shall be made known.
Mat 10:27 “What I say to you in the dark, speak in the light. And what you hear in the ear, proclaim on the house-tops.
Mat 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the being. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both being and body in Gehenna.
Mat 10:29 “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground without your Father.
Mat 10:30 “And even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
Mat 10:31 “So do not fear, you are worth more than many sparrows.
Mat 10:32 “Everyone, therefore, who shall confess Me before men, him I shall also confess before My Father who is in the heavens.
Mat 10:33 “But whoever shall deny Me before men, him I shall also deny before My Father who is in the heavens.
Mat 10:34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword,
Mat 10:35 for I have come to bring division, a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law –
Mat 10:36 and a man’s enemies are those of his own household.
Mat 10:37 “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
Mat 10:38 “And he who does not take up his stake and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
Mat 10:39 “He who has found his life shall lose it, and he that has lost his life for My sake shall find it.
Mat 10:40 “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.
Often we get into a discussion with someone about Scripture and about the things of Elohim (God) and the person either receives it gladly and with a open heart OR the discussion gets awkward and the person does not accept it with an open heart. There is something that I have learned as a believer and would like to share. Yahushua said that as we enter a house we should greet it and if the house is worthy, our peace should be upon it. But if not our peace should return and if they be not willing to receive the Word we are to shake the dust off our feet.
Often times we try to ‘prove’ God to the person we are witnessing to and we want to MAKE them understand! I submit to you that this is not the way to go according to the word. We are just to speak the Word to them, Elohim will reveal or ‘prove’ Himself to them, He doesn’t need our help with that! Our job is just to speak the Word and witness.
Yahushua says in v15 that if they did not receive the Word that was witnessed to them it shall be more bearable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgement than for that city! Brethren, recall that Sodom and Gomorrah was the most vile and unclean and unrighteous city in that time.
Lets read it again. Look at Genesis ch 19:12-17:
Gen 19:12 And the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? A son-in-law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whomever you have in the city – bring them out of this place!
Gen 19:13 “For we are going to destroy this place, because the cry against them has grown great before the face of יהוה, and יהוה has sent us to destroy it.”
Gen 19:14 And Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, “Get up, get out of this place, for יהוה is going to destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be as one joking.
Gen 19:15 And when morning dawned, the messengers urged Lot to hurry, saying, “Get up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.”
Gen 19:16 And while he loitered, the men took hold of his hand, and his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, יהוה having compassion on him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.
Gen 19:17 And it came to be, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be consumed.”
Out of a whole city only a few(Lot,his wife and his two daughters) were righteous and saved by the compassion of YHWH! Recall also that earlier Abraham had pleaded with Father that if there were only 10 righteous Father would not destroy it and Father said He wouldn’t destroy it if there were 10 righteous in it! Well it turns out brethren that there weren’t even 10 righteous in that city save Lot and his wife and two daughters! It also says that Lot went out and spoke with his sons in law and lot was to them as one joking, they ridiculed him. This was also the case with Noah when he was building the ark according to Father’s command. They laughed and ridiculed him. By the way there were also only 8 souls saved out of all the earth!
Brethren it is no different in our generation! In fact it is even getting worse! Men and women have absolutely no regard, or fear, for the Word of Elohim anymore. They treat His Word as a storybook composed of ‘nice’ stories to read to their children at night. Or they regard it as inspirational thoughts! “But oh don’t follow them, no sir the law has been done away with, all that’s left is love and peace. God wont be that harsh, don’t worry. Just accept Jesus He’s not like the Old Testament God whose always angry………..”
Brethren I’ve got news for you! Elohim DOES NOT change!
There is NO shadow of turning with Him. He is just and faithful to His Word. You can count on that! Even Yahushua said that when He returns will He even find faith on the earth!
Our text in Matthew says that men shall deliver us up to be flogged and brother shall deliver up brother to death! I believe it is not only speaking about physical brotherhood but also about brothers in the spirit. In other words fellow believers! Brethren just as there are false prophets among us, there are also false brethren among us! But we must watch their fruit for accordingly we shall know on whose side they are on. We are to be a witness to them and the nations around us.
Yahushua says that we should not worry about what to say in that day because the Spirit dwelling in us will speak through us, if the Spirit really lives in you. Do you really know Father that well that you can instantly know and recognize when He is speaking to you? Remember, Yahushua said that His sheep will know His voice……………..
Then out Text in Matthew says that we are not above our Master! If they persecuted, hated and scorned Him theyWILL do the same to His servant for a servant is NOT above his Master. (sounds different than the ‘gospel’of good fortune preached in churches today huh?) We are not to think for one second that we will not suffer any affliction because Messiah suffered all for us! Rather we are called to suffer with Messiah as a faithful bondservant!
Then our Text says that we are not to fear mortal man who can only hurt us physically, but rather to fear Elohim who can destroy both body and being in gehinnom! If we have even the slightest hope of pleasing Elohim and walking in His ways, we have to first learn to fear Him. Get our priorities straight and know who is more important!
Father cares for those He has called and they need only trust in Him. He will never fail us, ever. Our Text concludes with Yahushua saying that if we love our family or any other thing for that matter, more than Him, we cannot be His disciple. If we truly want to find Life we need only seek Him. For He is our Life and we cannot without Him.
He who receives the Word receives Messiah and him who receives Messiah receives the One who sent Him. Brethren, we better get our act together and get cleaned up. Seek Father while He may still be found. Time is running out. Receive His Word with gladness today!
Jud 1:1 Yehuḏah, a servant of יהושע Messiah, and brother of Yaʽaqoḇ, to those who are called, set-apart by Elohim the Father, and preserved in יהושע Messiah:
Jud 1:2 Compassion, and peace, and love be increased to you.
Jud 1:3 Beloved ones, making all haste to write to you concerning our common deliverance, I felt the necessity to write to you urging you to earnestly contend for the belief which was once for all delivered to the set-apart ones.
Jud 1:4 For certain men have slipped in, whose judgment was written about long ago, wicked ones1 perverting the favour of our Elohim for indecency, and denying the only Master יהוה and our Master יהושע Messiah. Footnote: 1See Mt. 13, 2 Thess. 2.
Jud 1:5 But I intend to remind you, though you once knew this, that יהוה, having saved a people out of the land of Mitsrayim, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
Jud 1:6 And the messengers who did not keep their own principality, but left their own dwelling, He has kept in everlasting shackles under darkness for the judgment of the great day.
Jud 1:7 Even as Seḏom and Amorah and the cities around them in a similar way to these, having given themselves over to whoring and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, undergoing judicial punishment of everlasting fire.
Jud 1:8 In the same way, indeed, these dreamers defile the flesh, and reject authority, and speak evil of esteemed ones.
Jud 1:9 But Miḵa’ĕl the chief messenger, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Mosheh, presumed not to bring against him a blasphemous accusation, but said, “יהוה rebuke you!”
Jud 1:10 But these blaspheme that which they do not know. And that which they know naturally, like unreasoning beasts, in these they corrupt themselves.
Jud 1:11 Woe to them! Because they have gone in the way of Qayin, and gave themselves to the delusion of Bilʽam for a reward, and perished in the rebellion of Qoraḥ.
Jud 1:12 These are rocky reefs in your love feasts, feasting with you, feeding themselves without fear, waterless clouds borne about by the winds, late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots,
Jud 1:13 wild waves of the sea foaming up their own shame, straying stars for whom blackness of darkness is kept forever.
Jud 1:14 And Ḥanoḵ, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied of these, saying, “See, יהוה comes with His myriads of set-apart ones,
Jud 1:15 to execute judgment on all, to punish all who are wicked among them concerning all their wicked works which they have committed in a wicked way, and concerning all the harsh words which wicked sinners have spoken against Him.”
Jud 1:16 These are grumblers, complainers, who walk according to their own lusts, and their mouth speaks proudly, admiring faces of others for the sake of gain.
Jud 1:17 But you, beloved ones, remember the words spoken before by the emissaries of our Master יהושע Messiah,
Jud 1:18 because they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own wicked lusts.
Jud 1:19 These are the ones who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
Jud 1:20 But you, beloved ones, building yourselves up on your most set-apart belief, praying in the Set-apart Spirit,
Jud 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of Elohim, looking for the compassion of our Master יהושע Messiah unto everlasting life.
Jud 1:22 And show compassion toward some who are doubting,
Jud 1:23 but others save with fear, snatching them out of the fire, hating, even the garment defiled by the flesh.1 Footnote: 1See Gal. 5:19-21, Rom. 8:5-10.
Jud 1:24 And to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you blameless before the presence of His esteem with exceeding joy,
Jud 1:25 to the only wise Elohim, our Saviour, be esteem and greatness and might and authority, both now and forever. Amĕn.
